Abstract

The purpose of this thesis is to make a biographical investigation of Horatio Parker, American composer and educator, through the use of biographical literature, memoires, essays, reviews and criticisms of his works. The biographical investigation covers such areas as his background, activities, achievements, and his importance and relationship to the development of American music.
