Abstract
During the summer of 1948, a general survey of alfalfa seed production problems in Nebraska was undertaken in the vicinity of Lincoln, Nebraska. In 1949 the study included observations at Lincoln, Malcolm and Hastings, Nebraska. Detailed studies were made concerning the relationships of various plant characters, flower age, flower tripped, pollen sterility, and seasonal distribution of wild bees to alfalfa seed yields. In addition, the effects of temperature, relative humidity, wind velocity and light on activity of bees in alfalfa fields were studied.
