Abstract

One problem the beef cattle industry currently faces is the apparent insufficiency of the beef cattle to convert feed into weight gain. The purpose of this experiment was to study the effect of a supplemental enzyme preparation and gelatinized corn when fed to fattening cattle in order to obtain information which might aid in understanding the previously mentioned problem. Two areas of study were organized in the research investigations (1) fattening trials with cattle and (2) in vivo studies of rumen fermentation.
