Abstract
The primary purpose of this investigation was to evaluate the overall levels of spotted alfalfa aphid resistance in seedlings of Ranger alfalfa and its parental strains and the frequency with which individual plants of varied resistance and susceptibility occur in random populations. Greenhouse studies during the fall and winter months of 1957-1958 have evaluated spotted alfalfa aphid resistance in an adapted alfalfa variety, Ranger, and its parental strains A-110, A-111, A-116, A-117 and A-119.
