Abstract
The thesis includes a biography of John Merbecke.It also includes discussion of his music:Booke of Common Praier noted, Per Arma Justitiae, Ave Dei Patris Filia, and A Virgin and Mother.Prose works of John Merbecke are also discussed. These include Concordance along with other prose works.This is followed by a comparative analysis of motets by Merbecke and Tallis. A bibliography is included.
