Abstract
The overall outlook for Nebraska over the next two years calls for continued moderate growth in employment, income, and reta il sales. Tables 1 and 2 present an overview of the forecasts.
-The gain in total employment in 1995 was 2.3 percent. Employment will increase 1.7 percent and 1.5 respectively in 1996 and 1997.
-The gains in total employment will add 14,000 jobs in 1996 and 12,600 jobs in 1997.
-Net taxable retail sales grew at about five percent in 1995. In 1996 and 1997, net taxable retail sales increases will closely match gains in lotal personal income.
-Inflation adjusted gains in personal income and re tail sales will be slightly more than two percent in 1996 and 1997.
