Abstract

Nebraska Facts, compiled by Walter Kollmorgen in the 1930s for the Conservation and Survey Division of the University of Nebraska, presents a concise statistical and descriptive overview of the state of Nebraska during the early twentieth century. The publication synthesizes data on Nebraska’s geography, climate, natural resources, agriculture, industry, transportation infrastructure, public health, and education. Emphasis is placed on the state’s agricultural productivity, manufacturing capacity, and favorable economic indicators, reflecting Nebraska’s role as a leading contributor to national food production and livestock markets during this period. The work also highlights public institutions, including the capitol building and the University of Nebraska, as well as notable demographic and educational achievements. Intended as a promotional and informational resource, Nebraska Facts serves both as a snapshot of the state’s economic and social conditions in 1930 and as a historical document illustrating contemporary priorities in regional planning, development, and civic identity.
