Abstract
The situation which occasions a study of the consultative services provided by the Division of Supervision and Curriculum of the Nebraska State Department of Education is a combination of at least two factors. First of all, a review of such services as provided by the Nebraska State Department of Education has never been made. Similar studies, however, have been made in other states as evidenced by a report from the United States Office of Education entitled, The Functions of State Departments of Education. (15:24-25)* In the selected references of this report are listed numerous articles that deal primarily with an analysis of the functions and services of State Departments of Education.
