A Collection: Stories
Abstract
A Collection is a polyphonic collection set in the fictional West Virginia Community of Lynch County. Like Sherwood Anderson’s Winnesburg, Ohio and Donald Ray Pollock’s Knockemstiff, it endeavors to explore rural American life through a collage of characters inhabiting a shared space. Themes include working class poverty, isolation, representations of disability in modern media and living under the negative stereotypes pertaining to Appalachia.^
