THE EARLY DEVELOPMENT OF THE NEBRASKA COUNCIL FOR EDUCATIONAL TELEVISON, INCORPORATED: 1960-1965

VICTOR JUNIOR CHRISTENSON, University of Nebraska - Lincoln

Abstract

Television has become a useful tool in education. It is an electronic-age confirmation of the old Chinese adage that "one picture is worth a thousand words," particularly when displayed and used in the classroom. Authorities estimate that television instruction is enhancing the teaching and learning of over 15 million students in more than 2,000 school systems, including colleges and universities.
