Socio-economic Development Practices Through the Public Elementary and Secondary Schools in Taiwan, Japan, and Mexico and Their Applicability for the Bicol Region, Philippines
Abstract
Developing nations cover a vast area of the earth's surface. These nations include many massive populations with potential productive capacities, with promising endowments of unexploited natural resources and others with less fortunate attributes. Recognizing the need for developing countries to keep pace with developed countries, the General Assembly of the United Nations designated the decade of the nineteen-sixties as the Development Decade. As an initial step towards the realization of this objective, the General Assembly issued a resolution calling upon Member States and their peoples "... to mobilize and sustain support for the measures required of both developed and developing countries to accelerate progress towards self-sustaining growth of the economy of the individual nations and their social development.
