Abstract

Two cases of neo-Y (White, 1954), one in D. miranda (Dobzhansky 1935b; MacKnight, 1938) and another in D. athabasca type III Y (Miller and Stone, 1962; Miller and Roy, 1964b), were known, each having arisen through a translocation between the original heterochromatic Y and one of the members of an autosomal pair.
