CONTENT AREAS, ORGANIZATIONAL LEVELS AND COGNITIVE LEVELS EMPHASIZED IN INTRODUCTORY HIGH SCHOOL BIOLOGY CORRESPONDENCE SYLLABI.

ROBERT W ABEL, University of Nebraska - Lincoln

Abstract

After relative obscurity, the use of questions is now receiving renewed emphasis in the study of teaching methods. Another current emphasis is on the application and analysis of educational objectives in improving instruction and evaluation.Sanders indicates that questions represent at least the fundamental, if not the exclusive, objectives of a course. "... questions and problems have long been used to motivate interest, to instruct, and to evaluate." "However," he points out, "even today the study of questions lends itself to further investigation."
