THE GRAVITATIONAL FIELD DUE TO MASSLESS SCALAR FIELDS (GENERAL RELATIVITY, SPIN ZERO, PHYSICS)

JAMES CARL CONWELL, University of Nebraska - Lincoln

Abstract

New metric solutions of Einstein's field equations are found for the stress-energy tensor due to massless scalar fields having plane and cylindrical symmetry. The Riemann curvature tensor is computed and the tidal forces due to these new solutions are studied. The location of singularities in the manifold is also discussed for these new solutions.
