Scorekeeping: Essays from home
Abstract
"Scorekeeping: Essays From Home" is a book-length collection of essays which at once commemorate and interrogate my hometown of Martin, TN, and my family's life there. I understand the memoir to be first an investigation of the writer's identity, and my dissertation represents my several attempts to make sense of my boyhood in the New South, to investigate who I am and where I come from and how the two are inextricably bound.
