Habitat loss and fragmentation, which in turn result in the fragmentation of species populations and ecosystem processes, are the primary causes globally of species endangerment and extinction. Corridors are an attempt to defragment the landscape and enable the movement of individuals, nutrients, and energy between habitat patches.
