Abstract
Dynamics 365 is software built by Microsoft to help businesses to manage several business activities, including accounting, human resources, supply chain, and many others. Microsoft receives lots of complaints from users about the system being slow, difficult to learn, and confusing to navigate. Microsoft collects telemetry data from Dynamics 365 that it uses to diagnose outages and downtime. It was hypothesized that this data could also be used to help Microsoft understand usability issues in the system that could be remedied. This project involved analyzing the telemetry using Python and big data processing tools in Microsoft Azure to look for patterns of use that were inefficient but could be eliminated through modifications to the system or user training. The result of the project was a Power BI dashboard for system administrators of Dynamics 365 to understand ways that they can improve the system for their users.
