Abstract

The new genus, Cavatorella is described based on the sole known Cavatorella spirodelae, new species, many specimens of which were collected in China from the aquatic plant Spirodela polyrhiza L. (giant duckweed) in 1991. A few adults were collected in Japan in 1955.
