Abstract
Abstract: The phylogenetic relationships of the species of the American genus Poecilopompilus Howard are analyzed, and the same relations are cleared up with its sister group Austrochares, Batozonellus, Episyron, and Sericopompilus; 38 characters were cladisticaly analyzed with the Ms-DOS Pee Wee program (Goloboff, 1993). In the resulting tree, the genera considered appear as monophyletic groups. Batozonellus is phylogenetically more related with Poecilopompilus, and those 2 with Austrochares. Poecilopompilus is monophyletic. A key for the identification of the 10 known species of Poecilopompilus, is proposed. Genera and species are illustrated.
