Abstract

This study is based on the technology acceptance model by integrating the internet self-efficacy (ISE) as an antecedent to determine students’ behavioral intention (BI) in adopting internet for their scholarly activities. To achieve this objective a structured questionnaire composed of 26 items that represented five constructs, namely, perceived usefulness (PU) perceived ease of using (PEOU), Attitude towards using internet (ATI) behavioral intention towards internet (BI), and Internet self-efficacy (ISE) were distributed among four-hundred and forty-eight students from technical; management and health science stream. The data is further analyzed using structural equation modeling. The findings of the study suggest that ISE has a significant influence on PEOU. Students with high self-efficacy find it easy to use the internet and thus develop a positive attitude towards the internet. Findings of this study stress on both online and offline internet literacy training program for the students to enhance their ISE for effective and efficient use of the internet in an e-Learning environment
