Budget Preparation, Approval, and Implementation in University Libraries in Nigeria

Abstract

This paper examines the funding situation and the impact of levels of funding on academic libraries in Nigeria, with particular reference to Delta State University, Abraka. Data were collected on the budgeting process: implementation, preparation, and approval; factors determining the allocation for libraries, and other sources of library funding. The sample included university administrators, lecturers, and librarians. Interviews, questionnaire, and literature survey were used for data collection.
