Abstract
Abstract
Rural development focuses on improving the living condition of people living in relatively isolated, sparsely populated areas by proving minimum basic needs to the rural people through the implementation of various developmental programs. For successful implementation of development programs, active participation of the people is needed at every stage of the development process. However, these areas have very less chances of connection from the rest of the country and have no or poor means of getting information of the outside world. Therefore, there is a need to find out the preferred and effective information communication sources and channels of the rural people for their active participation and successful implementation of the various development schemes and programs. The rural development program implemented in the study area is Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA).
