Abstract
Conflict is prevalent everywhere and in every facet of life the world over, in many different countries. The Niger Delta case is no exception. This paper attempts to define conflict and conflict resolution, trace the origin of conflicts in the region and the efforts made so far to ameliorate the situation. Emphasis is placed on dialogue rather than violence. It goes further to a role for the library in conflict resolution, particularly in the area of creating awareness and sensitizing users and professionals alike.
