Abstract
In this electronic era, students, professionals, and researchers have to access the information at any time and from anywhere. Libraries play a crucial role in the education system by sharing their expensive resources and provide various kinds of services to learners. Other than the traditional concept, the upcoming concept of the borderless library is applied recently. It becomes a need of time to provide digital access to the learners. LIS education is the area of education where the future library professionals are created and generated. Digital library functions as a single interface where LIS students can acquire all the necessary resources available for their professional studies. This survey is conducted among the LIS students of colleges affiliated with Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam with the objective to know and evaluate the role of the digital library in the LIS education system and concludes that the digital library satisfies the upcoming needs in LIS education.
