Abstract
A Bibliometric study is considered as one of the measuring tools identifying for the growth rate of publications, collaborative countries, and territories, preferred subject areas and research work, prolific organizations and institutions and top-ranked journals and highly productive papers, etc. This paper focuses on the literature growth and development in fossil fuels in India. Data were collected from Web of Science Core Collection, the search string was ‘‘Fossil fuels'' and refined by Countries/Territories ‘'India'' and the time span between 1989 and 2016 which were indexed SCI-Expanded, A & HCI. A total number of research output was 943 and its h-index was 73 and average citations per item was 28.63, a total sum of times cited was 26,997, citing articles was 21,694, without self-citations was 21,324 scores.
