Abstract

The state of Andhra Pradesh has a long history of library system before Indian independence as part of the Madras Presidency. Significant changes have taken place in the public library system over the time. This paper gives a brief description of the public library movement, aims and objectives of the library movement, library legislation and organizational structure of public library system in A.P.
