Abstract

The main purpose of this study is to trace out the growth and development of Indian open access scholarly publications during the period of 1970 to 2020. The data required for this study has been collected through the Lens database and analyzed on the basis of various indicators of bibliometrics assessment. This study showed that India has published a large number of articles (417887) in open access publications. The most significant findings in this study are that India ranks 13th in the world with positive growth, Indian Institute of Science has contributed the most of the papers, dominance of science subjects and RSC Advances Journal has scored the first place. This bibliometrics study revealed that India's contribution to open access publications is undeniable and India has conducted collaborative research with many developing countries around the world.
