Abstract

This paper discusses the concept of capacity in relation to capacity building and economic development. The critical issues involved in capacity building for development are identified, and recommendations made. The roles and importance of librarians and libraries in capacity building and economic development are also discussed. Developing countries must give attention to building capacity, especially in the areas of policy analysis, development, and educational management.
