Abstract
This paper presents the result of a study carried out to know the student’s perception about their skill acquisition during their Master of Library and Information Science at Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak, Haryana. The study is being conducted as a pilot project for a major research work. To collect the data, a questionnaire method containing structured as well as open-ended questions was used and an academic batch of 2011-2013 at MDU Rohtak consisting of 30 students was evaluated, and it was found that the majority of them are employed in different sectors libraries such as public, private and special libraries associated with different institutions in the country. It was further supported by the results of the survey that the majority of the students are satisfied with the skills and knowledge they obtained from the Library and Information Science (LIS) curriculum of MDU Rohtak. However, few of them were unsatisfied with the curriculum itself, often for contradictory reasons.
