This work presents the bibliometric analysis of the journal “Annals of Library and Information Studies” during the period 2010 to 2019 . it is an attempt to know the research output in the field of library and information science for a decade.

Abstract

This paper presents the bibliometric analysis of the journal “Annals of Library and Information Studies” during the period 2010 to 2019 with the aim to offer a summary of research trends of publications in the selected journal. The study analyzes total 328 papers of 40 issues from 2010-2019. Present analysis covers article distribution pattern, authorship pattern, references, and geographical distribution of authors, etc. ALIS reveals trend of growth in contribution and average number of contributions is 32.8% per volume. Majority of the contributors prefers to do collaborative research. Maximum contributions are on Bibliometrics and sufficient numbers of papers are published on e-resources. The highest numbers of contributors are from India (74.14%). The study also calculated measures of authorship with regard to degree of collaboration (DC), cumulative number of papers and average citations per paper.
