Abstract
The history of readers’ advisory services is both valuable and misinterpreted. Examining the practices and motivations in the implementation of readers’ advisory in the 1920s-1930s points to marked differences and subtle similarities to the readers’ advisory services we know today. Delving into historically and culturally significant events during this time period points to education as the main priority and purpose of RA.
