Abstract
This study established the relationship between marketing strategies and user appreciation of the services provided by Public Libraries. The findings revealed that there was a significant relationship between marketing strategies and user appreciation of the Public Library services. The use of social media, general reference service and the use of Library Website are marketing strategies that can be adopted by Public Library. Provision of conducive Library space, benchmarking, analyzing user’s behavior, Quantitative evaluation, effective use of catalog and the size of the collection were ways that Public Library staff apply to assess the level of user appreciation. the finding recommend that Public Library should encourage the use of social media to create a virtual environment to bring close the library users; use of Newsletters to promote products and services; provide conducive library space; provide authentic information, service, and facilities; provide feedback to users and evaluate services qualitatively and quantitatively.
