Abstract
Since the appearance in 1948 of H. Chonon Berkowitz's PioneeringPerez Galdós: Spanish Liberal Crusader, researchers have slowly been adding new facts to our knowledge of Galdós's life. But measured against major gaps in Berkowitz's information and questionable assumptions he made about Galdós, progress since 1948 towards compiling a reliable and comprehensive corpus of biographical information has been disappointing.
