Document Type Article
Abstract
This Concerto was composed during the summer of 1979 for the UNL Wind Ensemble. Jack Snider, director. One concept explored in this piece is an interest in maximum diversity of timbre through as varied instrumentation as possible with all solo parts. Another concept is have all parts of equal importance and difficulty. In this work, all the musicians are “lead” players. The piece is divided into three sections: parts III and I are scored for full ensemble, part II a series of solos and duets.
