Abstract
Public schools are a place to learn and prepare for the real world. Even so, they do not fully succeed in providing a good education to all students. Some kids leave high school without all the life skills necessary to succeed in the real world and others feel they haven’t learned enough about what they are passionate about. Schools also seem to neglect certain aspects of their students' lives, such as their mental health. This research looks at surveys, journals and articles, to learn more about just a few areas in which the public school system seems to be lacking, why they are lacking, and maybe how it can be changed.
