Abstract
In the United States, there is a marked gender gap in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fields. Women are underrepresented and face challenges such as gender stereotypes, lack of mentorship, bias and often suffer from impostor syndrome. Encouraging, supporting and increasing women in STEM fields is important in order to help the United States remain innovative in a competitive global arena.
