Abstract

A serial murder, is “the unlawful homicide of at least two people carried out by the same person (or persons) in separate events occurring at different times” (Briannica.com). A serial killer is an individual who carries out a serial murder. The thought process of a serial killer is miraculously different than that of an average person. Due to this, there is a difference in the brain activity between the two. This is important because research shows that an average person doesn’t think the same as a serial killer does. The serial killer’s brain has a decreased connectivity between the brain region that processes negative stimuli which leads to them killing (OUP Blog, 2022).
