Submission Guidelines

All authors interested in submitting work to The Nebraska Educator should follow the selected format:

  • APA Style
  • Title (10 words or less)
  • Abstract (150-250 words with up to 5 suggested key words)
  • Total manuscript (7500 words or less)
  • Permissions if using images
  • IRB approval when necessary
  • File saved as a Word document (.doc or .docx)
  • Author's name or other identifying information omitted (for blind review process)

The Nebraska Educator accepts manuscripts of up to 7,500 words (which includes the abstract, appendices, footnotes and references), and reserves the right to return any manuscript that exceeds this length. The journal defers to author preference in decisions about the naming and capitalization of racial, ethnic, and cultural groups. Manuscripts should be internally consistent in this regard.

Authors should be aware that research with human subjects likely would need approval from the Institutional Review Board. Authors are responsible for obtaining the necessary approval.

References must be in APA format. Authors should use the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (7th Edition) for reference and citation formats. Manuscripts with references and/or citations in another form will be returned to the author(s).
