Abstract
The objective of this activity is to raise and stock progeny from adult Lake McConaughy rainbow trout for the purpose of: (1) establishing spawning runs of McConaughy strain rainbow trout in streams which have the potential to support reproduction, (2) develop a stocking program for streams which have a coldwater habitat but lack suitable spawning areas (these rainbow, upon reaching a size of seven to nine inches will migrate downstream to Lake McConaughy. They will return to the streams in their third and fourth years weighing 2.0 to 6.0 pounds), and (3) providing additional life history and management information about the migratory rainbow trout population in the North Platte River drainage.
