Dr. Diandra Leslie-Pelecky's research group in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln studies nanostructured magnetic materials, striving to understand their fundamental properties, as well as potential applications such as MRI contrast agents, drug delivery and hyperthermia for cancer treatment. We use a variety of fabrication techniques, including mechanical attrition (milling or alloying), cluster deposition, and cluster deposition into fluids to produce materials with the appropriate cluster size and size distribution.
Our work is funded by the Department of Energy, the National Science Foundation, and the National Institutes of Health.
