The Nebraska Water Center was established in 1964 by Congressional mandate as one of 54 state-based Water Resources Research Institutes. We coordinate research and programs that support the University of Nebraska as an international leader in water research, teaching, extension, and outreach.
Our fundamental goals are to:
• Coordinate a wide range of research impacting water issues
• Foster a deeper understanding of water and its many beneficial uses
• Help develop new water researchers
• Train future water researchers and engineers
• Extend water research results to water professionals and the public through publications, seminars and conferences, electronic media, lectures, and tours.
