Abstract

An experiment was used to evaluate feeding OmniGen- AF during the last 28 or 56 days of the finishing phase in diets with or without Optafl exx. Th ere were no differences in steer performance or carcass characteristics when OmniGen- AF was fed alone or in combination with Optaflexx. Feeding Optaflexx increased ADG, HCW, and improved F:G. Supplementation of Optafl exx also increased the rate of accretion in LM area, but decreased the accretion of intramuscular fat percentage. These data illustrate the repartitioning of nutrients between lean and fat tissues when Optaflexx is fed.
