Abstract

The author of this thesis first wrote a short biography on the life of Bliss Carman then examines Carman’s poetry that spanned over 40 years of the poet’s life.In particular the author examines the reoccurring (or non-reoccurring) themes and the style of writing Carman utilized in his poems.Additionally the thesis examines to friendships and acquaintances of Carman’s that greatly influenced the poet’s literary works.Overall the author examines each of the above aspects of Carman and his poems and explains how those different aspects influenced Carman’s written works.
