Abstract

This study dealt with the design, start up, and initial operation of a pilot plant built to treat feedlot runoff. The plant was evaluated for a) simplicity of construction, b) ease of operation and maintenance, c) cost of operation, d) effectiveness of treatment, and e) comparability to the laboratory unit. Further study is needed to better evaluate the system over a wider range of detention times.
