Abstract
Under the current circumstances of easy and widespread electronic communication, reduced budgets, and increasing costs for printing and postage, it seems practical as well as prudent to streamline the publication schedule of Documentary Editing by collapsing the Winter and Spring issues into one Spring issue (published in February) and the Summer and Fall issues into one Fall issue (published in August). The current issue (Volume 28, Number 4) brings the old schedule to a close; Volume 29 (2007) is transitional; and Volume 30 will appear under the new regimen of two installments that fit the rhythm of the academic calendar: Volume 30: 1 (Spring 2008) and 30:2 (Fall 2008). Announcement of the annual meeting program of the Association for Documentary Editing appears in the current issue (p. 231) and the programs of subsequent meetings will be regularly published in the Fall issue, which appears in August.
