Abstract

This paper presents a bibliometric analysis of the literature in the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. The records as indexed in the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in MEDLINE data covered in PubMed for the period 2010-2019 considered. It is observed that a total of 49613 records are in the MEDLINE data covered by Pubmed. It is found that the maximum number of 8098 records was published in the year 2019. It was also found that 42.69% are journal articles. It is seen from this study that RGR has been decreasing trend and the Doubling Time (Dt) has shown an increasing trend throughout the study period except for the years 2014. It is found that 50 core journals grouped in zone-1 published 7068 journal articles accounting for one-third of the total output. Similarly, the second zone comprises of 310 journals published 7189 journal articles and 1267 journals published 6922 journal articles grouped in the third zone. A total of 360 journals are identified as core journals in the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. The United States is dominating and ranked in the first position contains 121 core journals, England contributes 80 core journals in the second position, the Netherlands contributes 25 core journals in the third position, Germany contributes 24 core journals in the fourth position, Switzerland contributes 18 core journals in the fifth position, etc.
