Abstract
The study looks at the impact of Nigerian Book Foundation (NBF) on the development of library collections in private universities in South West Geo-Political Zone of Nigeria. It is designed to create awareness among university librarians about the existence of Nigerian Book Foundation (NBF) and the enormous benefits that they can derive from being in close contact with the Foundation and other donor agencies (Local or International) who readily assist academic libraries particularly in developing countries in their collection development efforts. A good number of the respondents strongly believe that the Foundation is beneficial and that it has improved their library collections. It recommends the establishment of more local, state or national donor agencies to enhance book distribution in the system and encourage the provision and production of local literature.
