Abstract
This poster highlights a project that reimagines what library instruction, faculty partnerships, and student impact looks like following the transition away from a liaison librarian model. Looking at the academic institution’s general education program’s learning outcomes that all undergraduates must complete, we found Information Literacy (IL) was already built into this multi-disciplinary program. The library was given access to the university’s repository of participating course documents and syllabi allowing us to analyze how the learning outcomes are being met, and even more insights into how IL is being taught across campus. We began a pilot program for the first of the 10 learning outcomes, reaching out to faculty teaching the learning outcome addressed as well as creating a research guide that is integrated into their course Canvas. We will expand this pilot to meet the next two learning outcomes, and work towards creating mini grants to help faculty design IL into courses while also supporting the targeted learning outcomes. This poster visually represents this initiative by mapping learning outcomes to information literacy concepts, showcasing examples of how we are meeting shared curricular outcomes, and a timeline illustrating the work to be done.
