Abstract

An overview of the cestode (tapeworm) order Rhinebothriidea Healy et al., 2009, small worms that occur in the spiral intestine (valve) of rays (Batoidea) from marine and freshwater habitats worldwide. Includes discussion of their main morphological characteristics, a description and summary of a epresentative species, Anthocephalum currani Ruhnke and Seaman 2009, taxonomy, life cycle, and zoogeography.
