Abstract

An overview of the bursate nematodes (roundworms) in the superfamilies Strongyloidea and Trichostrongyloidea, including discussion of the general morphology, taxonomy, life history, and human and domestic animal health implications of several groups, including Necator americanus (Stiles, 1902), Ancylostoma duodenale (Dubini, 1843), A. ceylanicum (Looss, 1911), A. caninum (Ercolani, 1859), and Haemonchus contortus, among others.
